Texas Glance

"At the end of 2013 there were over 43,300 people receiving dialysis at over 520 dialysis clinics across the state. There are 23 Kidney Transplant Centers in Texas serving over 9,000 persons that have received a kidney transplant."-

According to Network 14 (State of Texas CMS Independent Contractor)

Inspired by the growing numbers of renal or kidney failure patients in the United States of America, Hemodialysis Training Program is started by SBLC or St. Bernadette of Lourdes Center, LLC. in the State of Texas immediately after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or CMS placed into an effect the regulation effective April 15, 2010 about Hemodialysis technicians needing federal certification from an approved testing agency within 18 months of being hired in a hemodialysis setting.

Currently, this technical course is registered to the Texas Workforce Solution or TWC, and continuously maintains proper accreditation with the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing and Technology or BONENT since April 2010.

SBLC is located 5 miles south from the Texas Medical Center, and is close by to the Vascular Access Center and End Stage Renal Disease Facilities agreed with the school for Related Learning Experience or RLE.

SBLC's effective hemodialysis training is known to different dialysis clinics in Greater Houston, as well as some other parts of USA.  Most of the graduates have proven that their decisions to be in this field is a fulfillment, especially that a quality training from SBLC opened their doors to a great opportunity.

Hemodialysis training program is lead by course Instructors: Julie Yap BSN, RN, MAN, CHN and Michael Yap BSPT, BSN,MHA
